DIGITAL FORENSIC

Computer forensics is a branch of forensic science pertaining to legal evidence found in computers and digital storage mediums. Computer forensics is also known as digital forensics..

The purpose of our forensic team is to explain the current status of a digital device. The term digital artifact can include a computer system, a storage medium (hard disk or CD-ROM), an electronic document (for example, a e-mail or JPEG image) or even a sequence of packets moving across a network.

The explanation may be as simple as "What information is here" and as detailed as "what is the sequence of events responsible for the current situation?"

The field of Computer Forensics also has sub branches within it, such as Firewall Forensics, the forensic database of mobile devices and Forensics.

There are many reasons to employ the techniques of computer forensics:

  • In legal cases, forensic techniques are often used to analyze computer systems belonging to the accused (in criminal cases) or litigants (on civil cases).
  • To retrieve the data in the event of a failure of hardware or software.
  • To analyze a system after a break-in, for example, to determine how the attacker had access and what the attacker did.
  • To gather evidence against an employee of an organization that wants to stop.
  • For information on computer systems with the goal to debug, optimize performance, or reverse engineering.
  • Forr the company is aware of what their employees are doing with the equipment and systems, as well as information and even with leaks of information, theft of property, etc.

Special measures should be taken when carrying out a forensic investigation is desired, for the results to be used in court.

One of the most important measures is to ensure that the tests have been collected accurately and that there is a clear chain of custody of the crime scene by the investigator --- and ultimately to the Court.
